Welcome to the website of the IAD Framework.
The IAD Framework brings together theory, practice, research, education, publication, and participation around a shared concern: the role of information architecture in the formation of meaning across artefacts, systems, institutions, and social reality.
At the centre of the IAD Framework is the IAD Canon: a developing body of theory exploring Information Architecture as a phenomenon of structure, meaning, and consequence.

2. ENGAGE WITH THE LITERATURE
The Publications section contains the core texts that set out the theory of IA Design: the two-volume IAD Canon, published as digital books and free to download. The Publications section also contains two Theoretical Extensions to the Canon, addressing the epistemology and ontology of IAD. These texts, likewise available digitally and free to download, provide the philosophical grounding for research in IA Design.
